Dear Pleasant Grove Mayor and Council:
We acknowledge your desire to have development in Pleasant Grove City, specifically in the area of 2000 West. We believe
citizens in American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Manila, Cedar HiIIs, Highland, and Alpine will benefit from an additional
interstate access and oil ramp.
As children of the late Robert G. Smith and Norma M. Smith, we ask that you consider other alternatives for a north
corridor from the Sam white Lane (700 South) to State Street (Highway 89). We believe the tax burden and impact fees
associated with the development of our property is far beyond our means. We take umbrage with the idea that we and
others along the proposed corridor stand to "gain the most' as has been suggested by city officials and developers
for such a road system. Speculation will not compensate us for the financial obligations we would incur in every
stage of the proposed project. Rather than speculate we prefer to take our opportunity and exercise our right to
develop our property sometime in the future when there is a market for development.
We do not believe a north road system is in the best interest of Pleasant Grove citizens or ourselves as the tax burden to
Pleasant Grove citizens and ourselves is not equitable when citizens of the county to the north appear to have a greater
benefit. Enclosed is information regarding adjacent properties recently or currently offered for sale. May we suggest
that you allow other people to "gain the most" from this proposed project.
Respectfully Yours,
Children of Robert G. & Norma M. Smith
